Australian artist Oliver Tanner exhibits at Kohler Bold. Art. exhibition …

Oliver Tanner’s effortless metal elegance

Invited to participate in the annual Kohler Bold. Art. exhibition travelling throughout Asia Pacific and the Middle East, Oliver Tanner is one of 13 artists from across the region who have created a unique piece of curated art to express their views on multiculturalism.

Oliver Tanner is a sculptor and designer who graduated from the National Art School in Sydney, Australia, where he lives and works. In 2012 he completed a scholarship program at the Tom Bass Sculpture Studio School in Sydney.

His practice explores organic forms and shapes through the medium of steel and bronze. Oliver’s sculpture for the Kohler Bold. Art. exhibition incorporates cast bronze to create a unique piece called Interwoven.

This sculpture is a work that symbolically describes the movement, growth and weaving together of societies that are at once independent and interconnected. The work describes the motion of four equal but different elements through space as a representation of multiculturalism in Australia and the interconnected nature of it’s communities.

Oliver benefits from the multicultural environment in Australia and embraces the possibilities to work on projects internationally. He has enjoyed producing his work of art to contribute to the Kohler Bold. Art. exhibition which may reach our shores later this year / early 2018.

Kohler Bold. Art. exhibition features Australian artist

Kohler Co has brought its passion for the arts to our local region with the KOHLER Bold. Art. Exhibition – a visual feast of works from artists throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Having invested in the recognition of both established and emerging artists for more than 40 years – in particular with its own residency programme in Wisconsin that has so far hosted more than 500 artists – Kohler has chosen to highlight the wealth of artistic talent in our own Asia Pacific region with the KOHLER Bold. Art. Exhibition. This year’s theme is Multiculturalism.

About the Multiculturalism theme

In the digitally connected world, people migrate, live in foreign countries and cultures, merge and demerge. Cultural and ethical boundaries dissolve, merge or pull apart to create a multicultural hot pot.

The travelling art exhibition, showcasing work from 13 artists across the region, opened in Shanghai and from there moved to Thailand, Indonesia, South Korea, Singapore and the Philippines. It is set to open in Taiwan on Tuesday, April 25.

These unique pieces of art, curated especially for this exhibition, reflect multicultural trends influencing daily lives and society in thought-provoking ways over the whole spectrum.
